How I Work

As an integrative therapist I use a combined approach to therapy that brings together different elements of the various models of counselling.

There are many ways in which human psychology can be explored and understood – no one theory holds all the answers, all theories have merit.

Therefore,  I  take the view that there is no one single approach that can treat each client in all situations.

The integrative approach  refers to the multi layered requirements of a person’s personality and needs – integrating the affective, behavioural, cognitive, and physiological systems within one person, as well as addressing social and spiritual aspects.

Each person is considered as a whole,  and counselling techniques are tailored to  individual needs and personal circumstances, built on a stable and strong therapeutic working relationship.

Essentially, as an integrative therapist, I am not only concerned with what works, but why it works – tailoring therapy to my clients and not the client to the therapy.
